Sun Valley Resort Has Gone Epic!
As of the 2019-2020 season, the Sun Valley Resort officially joined the Epic Pass. As the industry-leading pass, Sun Valley wanted to give more options for guests and increase the destinations that you can ski and snowboard. This inclusion will allows users access to a number of resorts in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and other destinations around the world. The Epic Pass pulls together Vail Resorts-owned destinations as well as partner resorts like Sun Valley which will remain independently-owned and operated. To give you a full grasp of what the pass entails we’re diving deep in to all of the Epic Pass details.
Pass Options
Starting with the 2019-2020 ski season, Sun Valley will accept four Epic Pass products: Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day Pass, and Epic 4-Day Pass. Let’s break it down:
Epic Pass – $939 (subject to change)
- Unlimited, unrestricted access at Vail, Whistler Blackcomb, Keystone, Northstar, Stowe, Afton Alps, Perisher (2020), Hotham (2020), Mt. Sunapee, Stevens Pass, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Park City, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Wilmot, Mt. Brighton, Falls Creek (2020), Okemo, and Crested Butte
- 7 unrestricted days at Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies and 50% of lift tickets once all 7 days are used
- 5 consecutive days at Hakuba Valley and Rusutsu, Japan, no restricted dates
- Access to 30 European resorts
- 10 Buddy tickets (discounted tickets that stay the same price all season long)
- 6 Ski-With-A-Friend (SWAF) tickets (discounted tickets from window ticket price, fluctuate throughout season)
Epic Local Pass – $699 (subject to change)
- Unlimited, unrestricted access to Breckenridge, Wilmot, Mt. Brighton, Mt. Sunapee, Stevens Pass, Keystone, Afton Alps, Okemo, Crested Butte
- Limited access at Park City, Northstar, Stowe, Heavenly, and Kirkwood
- 10 holiday-restricted days at Vail, Whistler Blackcomb, and Beaver Creek
- 2 holiday-restricted days at Sun Valley and Snow Basin and 50% off lift tickets when 2 days are used
- 5 consecutive days at Hakuba Valley and Rusutsu, Japan, no restricted dates
- Half-price tickets during blackout dates at Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, and Stowe
- Advanced lift ticket rate during blackout dates at Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, and beyond 10 days
- 10 Buddy tickets (discounted tickets that stay the same price all season long)
- 6 Ski-With-A-Friend (SWAF) tickets (discounted tickets from window ticket price, fluctuate throughout season)
Epic 7-Day Pass – $731 (subject to change)
- Access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stevens Pass, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, Wilmot, Stowe, Okemo, Mt. Sunapee, Whistler Blackcomb, Telluride, Snowbasin, Sun Valley, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies
- The discount for the Epic Day Pass increases with each additional day a guest plans to ski or ride—reaching up to 50% off window lift ticket prices
Epic 4-Day Pass – $456 (subject to change)
- Access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stevens Pass, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton, Wilmot, Stowe, Okemo, Mt. Sunapee, Whistler Blackcomb, Telluride, Snowbasin, Sun Valley, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies

What is the relationship between Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and Vail Resorts?
Sun Valley and Snowbasin are 100% independently-owned and operated with no plans for acquisition. They have formed an alliance with Vail Resorts to offer benefits to each other’s season pass holders.
Why did Sun Valley and Snowbasin decide to join the Epic Pass for next season?
Sun Valley and Snowbasin wanted to provide more options for our guests, and to be a part of the industry-leading pass. The Epic Pass is strictly a season pass alliance and does not constitute any ownership with Vail Resorts.
How long will Sun Valley and Snowbasin be a part of the Epic Pass?
There is a multi-year alliance with the Epic Pass starting for the 2019-20 season.
Will Sun Valley continue to be a part of the Mountain Collective Pass?
Mountain Collective™ pass holders will continue to have access to Sun Valley and Snowbasin during the remainder of the 2018-2019 ski season. Beginning with the 2019-2020 season, neither Sun Valley nor Snowbasin will be part of the Mountain Collective™.
What benefits will Sun Valley and Snowbasin season pass holders receive at Vail Resorts owned and operated destinations
For the 2019-2020 season, Sun Valley Challenger passes and College Pass, and Snowbasin Premier Pass holders will receive 50% off the one-day window lift ticket price at all Vail Resorts owned and operated destinations. This benefit is non-transferable and only the Sun Valley or Snowbasin named pass holder can use this benefit.
